About This Course

Crown Land Acquisition through OneStop follows one public land file from the final survey plan to a disposition that is built, notified and kept in good standing. You will tell an energy disposition that the AER decides through OneStop from one that Alberta Forestry and Parks decides through the Electronic Disposition System, screen the site before you apply, build the application in OneStop step by step, collect the consents it needs and assemble the Crown field and construction packages. The last lesson keeps the disposition alive: site entry notification, changes in the field, the as-built plan, renewal and expiry.

It is for practising Alberta land agents and the surface land administrators who prepare Crown applications and packages. It is designed as continuing-competence learning for Alberta land agents, at an intermediate level rather than entry-level training.

What you will learn

  • Say whether a public land disposition is applied for through OneStop or through Alberta Forestry and Parks in the Electronic Disposition System, and name the disposition types
  • Screen a site before applying: the public land standing report, the planning report, historical resource, conservation and coal searches, timber holders and other registered interests
  • Build a public land application in OneStop in order, including incidental activities, and explain what a variance to an approval standard needs
  • Collect the consents the application needs, submit, retrieve the authorization and assemble the Crown field, land and construction packages, including the occupant consent forms
  • Keep a disposition alive: site entry notification, field changes, plan replacement or amendment for the as-built, renewal and what happens on expiry
