About This Course
Every well, pipeline and facility licence application rests on the participant involvement done before it is filed, and most of that work is done by the land office and the land agent. This course follows a licensed Alberta land agent's own process under the current Directive 056: the project description letters for wellsites, pipelines and facilities, who must be personally consulted and who only needs to be notified, the notification period and confirmation of non-objection, how concerns and objections are handled, and how the file is kept current with update and cancellation letters and the licence term.
It is for practising Alberta land agents, land administrators and surface land coordinators who prepare, send or audit Directive 056 packages. It is designed as continuing-competence learning for Alberta land agents, at an intermediate level rather than entry-level training.
What you will learn
- Run the office's Directive 056 workflow from the final survey plan to the licence package
- Find a project's AER category and type, and decide who gets personal consultation with confirmation of non-objection and who gets notification
- Assemble the project description letter for a wellsite, pipeline or facility, with the AER public information documents
- Count the notification period and explain when confirmation of non-objection lets the company file sooner
- Keep the participant involvement summary and line list, and build the audit package
- Follow the routine and nonroutine paths, the dispute resolution options, and the update and cancellation letters that keep the file current
